You can permanently delete your Furry Health account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains the three ways to do it, exactly what is deleted, what is retained for legal reasons, and how long it takes.
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, it will be canceled automatically as part of deletion.
Option 1: In the Furry Health mobile app
- Open the Furry Health app on iPhone or Android and sign in.
- Tap More in the bottom navigation, then tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field.
- Tap Delete Account to confirm.
You will be signed out immediately. The full data cascade completes within minutes; the auth record is removed as part of the same transaction.
Option 2: On the web at myfurryhealth.com
- Sign in at myfurryhealth.com.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Delete Account.
- Type DELETE in the confirmation field and submit.
Option 3: Email request (if you can’t sign in)
If you no longer have access to your account, email support@myfurryhealth.com from the email address on the account with the subject “Account Deletion Request.”
We will verify ownership of the email address and complete the deletion within 30 days. In most cases it is done within 1–2 business days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile, name, email, and login credentials
- All pets, photos, and pet health records
- Appointments, prescriptions, and reminders
- AI scans, photo and audio check uploads, and FHI insights
- Messages, notifications, and support history
- Any saved payment methods on your profile
What is retained, and why
A small set of records is retained after account deletion only where the law requires it. None of it is used to identify you in our active product surfaces.
Veterinary clinical records
If a licensed veterinarian on Furry Health created clinical records about your pet, those records belong to the practice and are retained for the period required by state veterinary record-keeping laws (typically 3–7 years). They are no longer linked to your personal profile.
Financial and tax records
Invoices, receipts, and Stripe transaction records are retained for the period required by IRS and Massachusetts state tax law. Personal identifiers on these records are minimized after deletion.
Anonymized analytics
Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics (e.g., total scans run, breed distribution) may be retained without any link back to you.
How long deletion takes
- In-app deletion (mobile or web): Immediate. Your data is removed in a single database transaction and the auth row is dropped, ending all sessions.
- Email request: Within 30 days, usually 1–2 business days after we verify ownership.
- Backups: Encrypted backups are rotated on a 90-day cycle. Deleted data is purged from all backups within that window.
Active subscriptions
If you have a paid Furry Health Pro subscription, it will be canceled automatically when your account is deleted. You will not be billed for future periods. Already-charged periods are not refunded except as required by law; if you believe you were billed in error, please email support@myfurryhealth.com before deleting.
Veterinarian and practice accounts
If you are the sole admin of a veterinary practice on Furry Health, or you have future-dated appointments where you are the attending vet, the system will prompt you to transfer admin rights or reassign appointments before deletion can complete. This protects pet parents who rely on your practice.
